There will be seven similar tours over the two weeks of the Festival. The tours are led by expert local guides, who show visitors around some of Winchelsea’s original 13th Century barrel-vaulted cellars, which are normally closed to the public.

The tour will include descriptions of the history of Winchelsea, once a leading member of the Cinque Ports Federation.

Some of the cellars are difficult to access and visitors are encouraged to bring a torch and wear sensible shoes.
Booking essential as tour is limited to 24 people £7.50 - Currently available to Friends of the Festival only.
Tickets available to the general public from 07/08/17 -
Tuesday 19th September, Thursday 21st September, Saturday 23rd September, Sunday 24th September, Tuesday 26th September and Thursday 28th September.
